Sungpyo

Hey there—I’m an art director, graphic designer, and illustrator based in NYC, originally from Seoul and a graduate of SVA. I’ve worked with forward-thinking brands and creatives to craft visuals rooted in story and distinct aesthetics. Along the way, my work has been featured at the Emmys, recognized by the ADC, and published in The New York Times.

From design to diverse visual languages, I’m always exploring what’s next—ideas that feel fresh, future-facing, and deeply human.

Take a look at my work below—and if it resonates, let’s connect and create something meaningful.
Beyond Fentanyl
Show Graphics for Vice

For an investigative episode confronting the realities of the fentanyl crisis in the United States, I crafted a visual language that felt both disorienting and immediate—mirroring the hallucinatory effects of fentanyl itself.

Inspired by the concept of visual afterimages, my designs emphasized the lingering psychological and societal impact of the opioid epidemic. The result was a graphic system that heightened the episode’s urgency while grounding it in visceral storytelling.

The project received a News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Health or Medical Coverage.
